But "Survivor" already has a Coach.

Who the heck is Jimmy Johnson? My “Survivor: Nicaragua” Google Alert is all atwitter over “football great” Jimmy Johnson as a rumored cast member.

According to the Miami Herald, “Johnson is a total Survivor geek who never misses an episode and has been trying to make the cast for a couple of years now. He almost succeeded in 2008, but missed the final cut when a physical turned up arterial blockage. Two years later and 30 pounds lighter, he’s succeeded.

Huh. He’s 67, so don’t count on him as a Colby Donaldson/JT Thomas eye candy replacement.

Anyway, CBS just announced its 2010-2011 premiere dates. Basically it’s all happening in September, with “Survivor” starting on WEDNESDAY, September 15. They moved it from Thursdays, the tricksy hobbits. “The Amazing Race” is staying on Sundays, with the new season starting September 26.

Fellow “Survivor” philes, you might want to follow Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly, who should be dropping some “Nicaragua” scoops.

Today he tweeted: “Looking forward to having a Survivor Live reunion with @jennamorasca at the EW/CBS Comic-Con party tonight.” #SDCC #goodtimes And then: “To all those asking: Yes, I was in Nicaragua. No, I will not confirm any possible contestants. Full cast info coming soon enough.”

Goodie! Here’s hoping they found a slightly less evil version of Russell Hantz to entertain us.

And check out my nifty “Survivor” archive here. Warning: I really can’t stand The Evil Oompa Loompa. But at least he and I agree that Sandra never should’ve won “Heroes vs. Villains.” Parvati all the way.
